Preschool Autumn Crafts
Here are some preschool autumn crafts that your kids will enjoy to help to celebrate the wonderful, colorful season that it is!
Puffy Apple
Supplies Needed:
a drawing or template of an apple
white craft glue
nonmethanol shaving cream
red, green or yellow food coloring
small bowl for mixing
spoon
old newspaper
large wide craft popsicle sticks(optional)
Spread out old newspaper for covering your working surface. Mix equal amounts of white craft glue and shaving cream together with a spoon in a small bowl. Let your child help stir if she wishes as that's all part of the fun! Add a few drops of food coloring for whichever apple color you choose. Mix until color is blended well. Put the shaving cream/glue mixture onto the middle of the apple picture and let your child spread it around and fill in their apple picture using either their fingers of popsicle sticks. When finished, allow to ddry for at least 48 hours. Your apple picture will be soft and fuzzy feeling.
Orange styrofoam plate pumpkin
Supplies Needed:
1 large styrofoam plate
white craft glue
scissors
orange construction paper
small scrap of green construction paper
Have your child cut up small pieces of orange construction paper and then glue them on all over the styrofoam plate. Cut a stem from the green construction paper and glue it to the top of the plate.
Hand and Arm Tree
Supplies Needed:
pencil
1 piece of brown construction paper
blue or white paper
Nontoxic craft paint in yellow, red and orange colors(red and yellow mixed together will make orange)
Trace around your child's hand and arm up to their elbow on brown construction paper. Cut out. The hand will be the tree branches, and the arm will be the tree trunk. Have your child dip a finger into the paint colors and make fingerprint leaves on and around the tree branches.
